The short version

What connects corporate law and affordable housing?

The training began with a degree in experimental psychology at UC Santa Barbara, then a JD and an MBA at UCLA. The practice built on it covers the full life of a company — incorporation and founder counsel, financing, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate — sharpened by years co-founding and running companies as chief executive, chief financial officer, and general counsel.

The steadier thread is housing and the people it serves. He was general counsel of the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, sits today as a Commissioner of the Denver Housing Authority, and serves on the board of Urban Peak, which works with young people experiencing homelessness in Denver. The teaching came out of all of it.
